1. Introduction & Overview

Welcome to Sakhi Taru Sarnamu ("we," "our," or "us"). We are an exclusive community platform dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs, professionals, and homemakers through networking, chapter meetings, workshops, and business collaboration. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application (Sakhi Taru Sarnamu, Package: com.kodnex.sakhitarusarnamu) and our website (sakhitarusarnamu.com) collect, process, protect, and delete your personal data in accordance with Indian IT laws and Google Play Store Developer Policies.

2. Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

We collect only the information strictly necessary to provide community membership services, verify members, and manage chapter meetings:

A. Personal Identification & Account Data

Collected: Full Name, Mobile Phone Number, Username, Email Address, and Password (stored as one-way encrypted bcrypt hashes).

Purpose: Used for account creation, login authentication, and administrative approval to ensure a trusted, safe women-only environment.

B. Member Profile & Community Directory

Collected: Profile Photo, Profession, Business Name, Business Category, Address/City, Personal Interests, and optional Date of Birth, Anniversary, and Blood Group.

Purpose: Displayed in the member directory for sisterhood networking and business discovery. Sensitive details (e.g. blood group) are strictly restricted to club administration for emergency support and are never exposed publicly.

C. Chapter & Event Attendance Data

Collected: Chapter assignment, Meeting RSVPs (attending/not attending), Seat reservations, and Entry QR Code check-in scan timestamps.

Purpose: To manage meeting venue capacity, avoid overbooking, and verify verified member entry at events.

D. Device & Notification Data

Collected: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, IP address, device model, and OS version.

Purpose: Used exclusively to deliver urgent community notices, event schedule updates, and membership renewal reminders.

E. Payment Information

Collected: Transaction ID, Order Reference Number, Amount, and Receipt Number.

Purpose: All payments are processed securely through RBI-licensed payment gateway PhonePe. We NEVER collect, see, or store your debit/credit card numbers, CVVs, net banking passwords, or UPI PINs.

3. Mobile Device Permissions Used

Our application requests only the minimum required permissions necessary for core app features:

  • android.permission.INTERNET: Required to communicate with our encrypted cloud servers over secure HTTPS.
  • android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Used solely to alert you to chapter meeting dates, venue announcements, and reminders. You can turn this off at any time in device settings.
  • android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Used by the local notification scheduler to restore scheduled reminders if you restart your phone.
  • Photo Selection (Photo Picker): Uses the standard Android System Photo Picker when you select a profile photo. The app does not request or access other photos or media on your device.
  • NO Sensitive Permissions: We do NOT access your background location, contacts, microphone, camera, SMS, or call logs.

4. Third-Party Data Sharing & Advertising

We do NOT sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information with third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.

Personal data is shared only with verified infrastructure providers strictly required to deliver the service:

  • PhonePe Private Limited: For secure UPI and payment gateway settlement.
  • Google Firebase: For reliable real-time push notification dispatch.
  • Google Drive / Cloud Storage: For hosting community event photo gallery links.

5. Data Security & Encryption

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security controls:

  • All network communication is strictly encrypted in transit via Transport Layer Security (HTTPS / TLS 1.3).
  • Passwords are one-way hashed using salted bcrypt algorithms.
  • API requests are protected by application secret verification, rate limiting, and authenticated session tokens.
  • Database records are protected with row-level transaction locks and restricted server firewall rules.

6. Account & Data Deletion Policy (Google Play Compliant)

We believe in complete data ownership. Any member can permanently delete their account and associated personal data at any time:

How to Request Deletion:

  1. Inside the Mobile App: Open Profile → tap Delete Account → confirm deletion.
  2. Via Web Browser: Visit our official deletion portal at sakhitarusarnamu.com/delete-account.
  3. By Email: Email hello@sakhitarusarnamu.com with your registered mobile number for manual deletion assistance.

What is Deleted Immediately: Your personal profile details (name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, blood group), your uploaded profile photo file on our storage servers, your directory listing, support messages, and active QR entry passes are permanently erased.

What is Retained: Pseudonymous financial transaction references (receipt numbers, payment dates, amounts) are retained exclusively to comply with statutory accounting and tax regulations under Indian Law. Deletion does not grant a refund.

7. Children's Privacy

Sakhi Taru Sarnamu is an adult women's organization and business networking platform. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age.
